We're Local and Ready to
Serve You and Your Family
We are Claire Davids and Edward McCarthy – the local owners and operators of Caring Transitions of Monmouth County. Thank you for considering working with our team. Caring Transitions is unique because we are a full-service company and because of the standards we hold ourselves to every day. We never lose sight of the fact that, when clients bring us into their homes, we are guests. We treat every client, family member, possession, and home with the love and respect they deserve, especially during what can be a challenging time. We want to be an extension of your family so you can focus on the things that matter most.
Here’s a little more about us… we look forward to meeting you soon!
Edward McCarthy
I grew up in New Jersey and, after moving away for college, I returned to Monmouth County and have called it home ever since. While I have worked in communications, sales, analytics, and management consulting, my passion project was when I owned a newspaper in Redbank. During that time, I got to know this community better than ever, and I knew it would always be my home. As Claire and I were looking for a business to open together, I knew I wanted it to be something that allowed me to become part of the fabric of this community once again – not just another job.
In addition to my front-end professional experience, I also know what it’s like to help older loved ones relocate – my grandmother moved in with my parents when I was in my 20s, and my parents recently moved to be closer to my sister. My grandmother had been in her house for 70 years and my parents had been in theirs for 40 years, so even though those were moves they were happy to make, it was still emotionally and physically challenging. At Caring Transitions, we are here to make those transitions easier with our full suite of customizable services and our compassionate team.

I moved to the United States from England when I was 19 and, when I was 21, I founded a logistics company, which I sold to UPS in 2014. At the time, it was a $100 million business with more than 300 employees, so I was especially ready for a break. I took time to spend with my family, I volunteered to help underprivileged youth and, later, I volunteered with the local chapter of SCORE. As Edward and I were thinking about our second act professionally, one of Edward’s college friends started talking about how much she loved her own Caring Transitions franchise.
The more we learned about Caring Transitions, the more it felt like a good fit for us. Caring Transitions allows us to combine our skills – mine in logistics and back-end operations and Ed’s in sales and marketing – to serve the community and support our family. Caring Transitions allows us to serve the community in a new way, and we’re looking forward to helping you and your loved ones through the challenges you’re facing. We are here to take the stress out of transitioning, no matter the reason
